Community College Teaching Experience

The following lists my experience in learning how to implement inclusive and equity-minded teaching methods that meet the needs of diverse student populations.

August 2022 - Present

Teaching Assistant (TA), Cerritos College

As a Teaching Assistant for an ENG 100: Freshman Composition hybrid fall 2022 course, the Cerritos College TA Program offers me hands-on experience working with college students and the opportunity to learn new techniques necessary to be an instructor in a community college setting. Additionally, the instructor I am paired with allows me to participate in his other ENG 228: Shakespeare's Plays course, where I get to expand my knowledge on teaching Renaissance courses common in my early modern studies concentration.

K-12 Teaching Experience

The following lists my experience in teaching at elementary, junior high, and high school levels.

September 2019 - Present

Substitute Teacher, Corona-Norco Unified School District

As a Substitute Teacher for K-12 education, I am responsible for fostering a productive and safe classroom culture. I adhere to lesson plans and curriculum left by the regular instructor. I continuously follow school policies and procedures. I closely monitor my students in the classroom to make sure they are on task at all times to complete the required work before they leave for the day. Before I clock out, I write a detailed sub note for the instructor to inform them of what lesson goals were achieved, what assignments students completed, who was absent, as well as any behavior-related issues (both positive and/or negative). Before I leave the classroom, I ensure that the room is thoroughly sanitized and up to professional standards.
